Rachel: Owner

Rachel trained at Mary Reid International School of Beauty in 1995, from there she went on to work at The Edinburgh Floataruim for 5 years, from there moved onto various salons in Edinburgh working with top brands such as Guinot, Decleor, Clarins and Dermalogica.

After 28 years in the beauty industry she still loves meeting clients and doing lots of different treatments. She is especially passionate about skin health and loves giving (and receiving!) relaxing face and body treatments.

Rachel is extremely proud of The Lilac Rooms and passionate about her work. She is always thinking of ways to improve the services offered and believes it is so important to stay at the fore front of the ever changing beauty industry.

In her spare time Rachel likes to socialise, loves exercising, walking her dogs and spending time with her husband and two boys.

Sureya: Beauty Therapist

Sureya trained at the Edinburgh School of Beauty in 2023 and has since been working in both hotel and spa environments, including Kings Manor Hotel and currently One Spa in Edinburgh. She has built a strong foundation across a wide range of treatments and enjoys delivering a high standard of care to every client she works with.

She has experience with premium skin & body care brands such as Elemis, Temple Spa, and ESPA, and brings a thoughtful, hands-on approach to her treatments. Whether it’s massage, facials, or full-body treatment, she takes pride in offering personalised experiences that help clients feel relaxed, restored, and confident.

She enjoys all aspects of beauty therapy and continues to grow her skills within the industry. Outside of work, she values quiet balance, meaningful connections, and the small routines that bring calm and clarity to everyday life.

Cat: Beauty Therapist

Cat gained her Beauty Therapy qualification in 2021 at The Edinburgh School of Beauty.

She went on to work at Pure Spa & Beauty before moving on to a smaller salon in central Edinburgh. As a result she has gained lots of experience in nails, waxing & massage.

Cat enjoys making clients feel good about themselves and her favourite treatments are nails, facials & waxing.

She enjoys going to the gym, spending time with family, friends and  her boyfriend.
